United Parents appoints Ben Carmona as CTO

After an extensive search and interviews with a strong pool of candidates, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Ben Carmona as our Fractional Chief Technology Officer.

Ben brings over 20 years of senior engineering and product experience, including founding and building the technology for Urbanbite, the first online takeaway ordering platform, which was later acquired by Just Eat.

He also co-founded TranslateMedia, where he led the development of language-technology platforms and oversaw the company’s transition to a scalable SaaS model. Amongst other technological prouesses (and there are many!), Ben has also built and scaled a childcare-focused app for parents, which aligns very well with our work.

For United Parents, Ben’s appointment represents a major step in building a secure and scalable technology foundation for our parent-to-parent school-run sharing solution. His expertise in architecture design, platform resilience, data integrity, agile product development, as well as his network will be instrumental for our growth.

“I know how important a good team is, and I’m honoured to be working alongside Ben. He brings the experience, clarity, and engineering discipline we need to build a safe and robust product. We’re very much thrilled to have him guiding our technical strategy at this pivotal stage.” – Auriane Cirasuolo

“As a parent, I’ve often thought about building or finding an app like United Parents. The company is tackling a real, systemic problem with huge potential for impact.” – Ben Carmona

Ben’s appointment follows United Parents’ recent acceptance into the FFinc Forward Faster Accelerator, Breakthrough Accelerator, and the Innovate UK Business Growth Programme, reinforcing the momentum behind the company’s mission to deliver greener school transport solutions.
